Moorish Art Of North Africa

The term Moorish is used to describe the art, architecture, and high culture of Muslim Andalusia and North Africa dating from the 11th century onward. Moorish art is variation of Ismalic art. Moorish architecture include a variety of arches, calligraphy, and decorative tile work. The best examples of Moorish architecture are the Alhambra in Granada, Spain, and the Grand Mosque of Cordoba also in Spain. The endless arches and central courtyards and the carved wood are main elements of this ever lasting art. A beautiful form of art that is indeed very unique with a  very distinctive vibe.

Do we keep traditions alive?

Yes! Especially the ones that are food and gatherings related. We love it when family and friends come together and share an authentic meal at a certain time of the year or because of an occasion . Traditions have so many benefits. They provide a sense of belonging and meaning to our lives. Traditions also provide a constant for us in a life that is always changing so fast. It also connects us with our ancestors knowing that many generations before us shared similar experiences. At Leeloos we have a range of traditional foods like Maghly. The tradition is to serve it to celebrate a birth of a child because of the benefits it has for the new mom. We highly recommend!

Is It Ok to Slurp?

Well believe it or not in many Asian countries it is ok to slurp while eating  and  usually considered to be totally polite. It is an indication of your appreciation and admiration for the food you are eating . Actually come to think about it , it is kind of impossible not to slurp while you are enjoying your bowl of noodles. Another Asian tradition we like is sharing! Most Asian households like to prepare a bunch of dishes and  gather around the table  and share . When you go out everyone orders a different kind of dish and share .We actually like the idea because it’s a great way to get a taste of everything!

Get to know the Nabulsi Soap!

The Nabulsi soap has been hand crafted in the city of Nablus in Palestine since the year 1907; this olive oil soap is distinctive for its simplicity, which is something we value in many of our products.  Composed of only three ingredients: Olive Oil, Baking Soda and Water.  Palestine is famous for its blessed olive trees that differ in quality from other olives trees around the world.  Another quality in this soap that we highly value is that it is free of any synthetic scents making it a super natural alternative to regular soap but that does not compromise how squeaky clean you will feel after you using it! A symbol of Palestinian pride and cultural heritage.  https://www.leeloos.ae/product-detail/3110/personal-care/nabulsi-soap
